Open Your Mind

In case anyone cares, I have opened a new chapter in my personal musical enlightenment book - I have discovered the 50's.

While I have no plans on physically altering my DNA's "60's/70's rock-n-roller" genes, I am enjoying listening to the likes of Woody Herman, Francis Bay, Jan August and others of the 40's-50's ilk. My trips to Southern California thrift stores focused on the continued expansion of my vinyl LP collection, and looking for album covers that are worthy of sharing on Epiclectic's Vintage Vinyl site, I've started taking a few more of them home with me - based on their cover art.

Well, when you start listening to this stuff, its really pretty cool! I encourage you to listen to something by someone you have never heard before. I'm sure you will end up with a broader outlook on life, and realize there is plenty of room on this planet to accomodate everyone's taste in music.

But, as Ian Hunter has stated many times, "I still love rock 'n roll."
